Celebrate This New Year with Boston Baroque!

On Tuesday, December 31st at 8:00PM, the Harvard University Sanders Theatre will be host to the Boston Baroque performance!  The Boston Baroque will “pop the cork” in grand style on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day!  This year’s concert will include Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos No. 3 & No. 4, Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht and The Wedding Cantata.  At intermission, there will be champagne and chocolates for celebration.  If you cannot make the December 31st concert, don’t worry – there’s going to be a second concert on Wednesday, January 1st! Soloists will include some of Boston’s favorite singers: soprano Courtney Huffman, tenor Matthew Anderson and baritone Andrew Garland.

Boston Holiday Pops Concert!!!!!!

At 8:00PM in Symphony Hall December 10th, the Boston Holiday Pops will be performing!  These annual December concerts are one of Boston’s most prized holiday traditions.  This year, the Holiday Pops will perform their new release “A Boston Pops Christmas – Live From Symphony Hall,” including the traditional selection “Sleigh Ride”.  Also, the concert will include music from the film “The Polar Express”.  In addition, a singalong with the Pops and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus to the classic tunes, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Winter Wonderland,” “White Christmas,” and other seasonal songs.

TheA Classical December Evening: Presented by the Korean Cultural Society of Boston

At the New England Conservatory in Jordan Hall on Friday December 6, the Korean Cultural Society of Boston will present A Classical December Evening at Jordan Hall.  This performance will feature compositions composed by Bohuslav Martinů, Young Ja Lee, Ludwig van Beethoven and Johannes Brahms.  The concert program will also feature pianist HaeSun Paik, cellist Yeesun Kim, violinist Nicholas Kitchen, harpist June Han and violist Julianne Lee, in a variety of intriguing chamber and solo pieces.

Tomaseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas

On Saturday, December 7th, the Larcom Theatre in Beverly, MA will be host to Tomaseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas performance.  This concert recreates the night before Christmas in a farmhouse in Ireland, when everyone in the town gathers together to celebrate the winter season.  This performance will feature the internationally recognized steel-string guitarist, William Coulter.  Brian Bigley will summon Christmas spirit with his flute, whistles, and uillean pipes, as well as his world-champion level Irish dancing skills.  Kathleen Keane will also join this concert playing the Irish fiddle and singing.  And lastly, Tomaseen Foley will naturally be present as a native Irish storyteller.

The Nutcracker: Presented by the Boston Ballet

On Friday, November 29th, the Boston Ballet kicks off the Christmas season with their famous performance of the Nutcracker at the Boston Opera House.  This winter season’s sparkling performances may be sold out early so it’s highly recommended to get your tickets early as many shows last year were sold out!! Boston Baroque: Beethoven’s 9th Symphony Performance

Kicking off their 40th Anniversary Season with a bang, the Boston Baroque will be performing Beethoven’s brilliant Ninth Symphony November 8-9 at the NEC’s Jordan Hall. The repertoire for this concert, other than Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Ode to Joy, and Elegiac Song.   This performance will feature Met Opera singers Leah Partidge and William Burden as they make their debut with the Boston Baroque.  In addition to these featured singers, the Boston Baroque Chorus will also be  featuring Ann McMahon Quintero and Kevin Deas.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis Tour!

At the TD Garden Friday, November 8th Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will be kicking off their Fall 2013 tour.  They will be performing some of their most popular rap and hip-hop hits.  In addition to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Talib Kweli, a Brooklyn-based rapper, will also be a part of this performance.
